One of the largest amusement parks in the Midwest, Valleyfair has over 65 rides, including more than a dozen roller coasters and thrill rides, including Ripcord, an 180-foot high freefall ride, and Steel Venom, a spiraling roller coaster. Other rides are more suited for families and younger children, as are the variety of shows and comedic acts presented around the complex. Whitewater Country is the park's water-based area, with inner tube rides, a slow-moving river and high-speed rides. The park is located near Raceway Park on the eastern side of Shakopee, about 20 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
